All the education that I have received has been geared towards Information Technology. I first passed a Scientific Baccalaureate specializing in engineering sciences at the Lycee Virlogeux in Riom (France).
After that, I obtained a two-year Technical University Diploma (DUT) in Computer Sciences specializing in Digital Imaging at the University Institute of Technology (IUT), Clermont I, Le Puy en Velay (France).
This course allowed me to have an advanced level in C/C++ programming, as well as solid grounding for different domains of the digital imaging. Among these domains were the image synthesis mathematics and algorithms and image processing algorithms.
I then obtained a Vocational Degree in Computer Sciences specializing in Digital Imaging, Image analysis and Machine Vision at the IUT in Le Puy en Velay.
My placement took place at Courbon Productique, company based in Saint-Etienne, (France), and whose principal activity consisted in conceiving and installing automatic production-line control systems by machine vision.
This additional year gave me a good work experience as well as more image processing and machine vision skills. The necessity in industry to get faster production control rates allowed me to have an acute sense of real time optimisation.
Then, I have been through the second year of the BSc Computer Games Programming course at the University of Teesside.
It provided me with the necessary knowledge for the video games programming (program structure, optimization, etc.), as well as other important elements such as the Music APIs and Libraries module (MIDI, DirectSound) and also the Tools programming for Games module using for example the Maya API.
This course led me the following year to a placement at Ubisoft Reflections (Newcastle, UK).
Finally, I am currently a Tools Lead Programmer at Ubisoft Entertainment, Montreal (QC, Canada) after spending five years as a Tools Programmer at Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Entertainment. In this role, I manage a small team of tools programmers for the Technology group in which we create products used by different productions across Ubisoft studios.
Concerning my free time, one of my favourite hobbies is Information Technology (hardware and programming). I have built and repaired my own PC as well as those of my friends. And I am constantly on the watch for new hardware. I also program for my pleasure in order to improve my skills in this domain.
And finally, I love playing video games. I enjoy varied game styles:
FPS (First Person Shooter) such as RAGE, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield, Crysis and Far Cry series
RTS (Real Time Strategy) such as Supreme Commander, Warcraft III, Civilization, Total War series and Sins of a Solar Empire
Racing games such as the Trackmania, Burnout, Flatout, Colin McRae Rally and Gran Turismo/Forza series
Management games such as Black and White 2, Spore, Anno and Settlers series
Simulation games such as Flight Simulator X, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, Arma 2 and X3 Reunion
Action games such as Freelancer, Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia series
RPG (Role Play Games) such as Mass Effect, The Witcher, Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.
Hack'n'Slash such as Titan Quest and Dungeon Siege
